About Matchmaking
TheWestWalker.net's matchmaking system will find similarly skilled teams for you to play against. Set a date and time at least
48 hours from now, and the matchmaking system will find several other teams to play against. Whichever one accepts the challenge
first will play against you in a best of 5 series on randomly selected map and gametype pairs. Your team will also gain more
experience in matchmaking than from the old challenges.
The matchmaking system will try to find other teams as close to your own rank as possible. However, in an effort to keep your team from playing the same team many times in a row, the search waits until it finds several teams. At most, the teams it finds will be 4 ranks above or below you, but ideally they will all be the same rank. The search will also only challenge teams whose leader has been online in the last 7 days to keep the challenge slots from being wasted on inactive teams. If you want to keep your team active in matchmaking, your leader will have to log in at least once a week.
One the system challenges a team, it will show up when they log in. The team won't know who is challenging or what gametypes you'll be playing (neither will you) until after they've accepted their challenge and until 48 hours before the challenge date. You cannot cancel matchmaking games, and you have to accept all challenges 48 hours before the challenge date. When the time comes, play the games just like normal challenges. Red team leader is responsible for getting the game together and having all the maps and gametypes ready to go.
Since you're playing a best of five, playing games after the winner of the series has been determined is unnecessary. If either team already has three wins, you don't need to continue playing. Either team's leader can submit the results of the games after they're over. After enough games have been reported to determine a series winner, ranks will be adjusted. Matchmaking will give you considerably more experience than regular challenges will.
Also note that the Legendary Map Pack is required for Matchmaking in playlists that incorporate it.
That's the gist of it, good luck out there!
